Starting a new feature

Excitement for new goals will ebbs and flows.

Officially onto the second feature of this fiftyfeats.com goal! I got a little bored or less excited about this idea over the past week and didn’t work on it at all. This is usually where I would start working on something else, but we’re going to stick with it for another week and see what happens!

Feature 2 is an opportunity to get back into it and maintain the momentum even when the excitement plateaus a bit. I need to make some more content pages for the website, and if I already have them, I will improve them a bit.

Here are the next four feats, with some extra detail about this week’s goal:

Feature 2 - Content Pages

5. Homepage (this week’s feat)
   • Finalize hero image and tagline
   • Add site description
   • Include call-to-action buttons
   • If time allows, add optional featured content (like about page or first journal entry)
6. About, Contact, and Features pages
7. Navigation polish and active states
8. Animations/transitions

Each of the next four weeks is a manageable chunk of work that allows you to better understand what the Fifty Feats framework is all about right when you reach the website for the first time. You should be able to better tell the idea behind it just by viewing a few of these high-level content pages, which is a small win, but a meaningful one!
