Quickly finished feat 8 which was “Transitions and animations”. I have never used any of these on my projects before, and I don’t think they add too much at the beginning of a project like this.
I quickly did some research and used a simple hover animation on my main button element. It’s brief, kind of boring, but it taught me what they are and where they go in my CSS file.
At this point in my FiftyFeats.com focus, I’ve completed eight feats and 2 features (basic layout and branding, content pages). Moving into the final feature of phase 1 will be “static functionality and polish”. I’m still not overly crazy about my plan with this one because it seems like there’s not much on the site yet. I haven’t even explained the entirety of my focus, which would be helpful to see.
The phase 1 goal of laying the foundation of the website has basically already been achieved. It’s a static version of the Fifty Feats framework with my own personal journey being documented along the way. Scale that up and you could have anyone sharing their story through a one-year goal of their own. That future version is going to exist because I’m going to make sure I complete this focus!
I’ll have to keep thinking about if feature 3 is valuable or if I need to switch it up a bit. I’m going to have to start showing this site to people soon, so whatever I work on right now needs to help make a good first impression.
