About

Fifty Feats is a framework to complete one year goals using the following milestones and activities:

Focus > Phases > Features > Feats > Flow

Focus

The focus is your singular goal for the year, which can start on January 1st, or any day you'd like. It is the one thing that you will focus on no matter what is going on week-to-week. The major characteristics of a focus are:

Phases

Phases break up the year into four chunks, and are the high-level steps you need to accomplish your goal. The timing is similar to quarters of a standard calendar year (Q1, Q2, etc.), but can adapt if you dont't start on January 1st.

Features

Features are small milestones that can be completed in four or five week periods of time. Depending on how you set up your goals on Fifty Feats, these can be checkpoints toward the focus, or a deliverable portion of the focus. The start date and end date of features won't directly match calendar months.

Feats

Feats are one-week goals set for yourself that stack up to accomplish your focus for the year. There's only 50 of them because two weeks out of the year will be bonus weeks. Bonus weeks are very important, and can be used for a break, progress review, look-ahead, or an unstructured chance to catch up on anything that gets you closer to accomplishing your focus.

Flow

Flow is the daily work that you show up for and complete. You document it in your journal, to inspire yourself as you look back at all the work you've done. Eventually, you can share it to inspire others to chase after their dreams and goals, too.
